Comments: I have no web site but am interested in the Surname of Webb from Ohio. We can go back to 1800 in Hanover, Ohio, Licking County, Ohio. But records were destryed for those earlier due to fire at the Licking Co. Court House. Enjoyed reading your Samuel Webb history, but do not think they are ours. Do you know if any of the Webbs that you account for traveled West or South?

Comments: My grandmother Saidee Mae Wescott (1886-1961) married D. A. Michael and Oliver W. Crandall. Her dad is Wm. Henry Harrison Wescott who was born in W. Zanesville, Ohio. He married Sara Ann Purcell of Danvers, McLean Co., Illinois, and fought in the Civil War in an Illinois regiment. They migrated to the Tacoma, WA, area after living in Missouri for at least twenty years. They are both buried in the Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup, WA. Can you make any connections.

My dad was Daniel LaRue Wescott and his father was Joseph Wescott, both born in Scranton, PA. Thanks, Bill, for checking out the genealogy!

Comments: Bonjour, Your site is impressive but I do not read enough English for all to understand. I make the genealogy of Laventure in Quebec and the United States. I have Drayton Laventure married to Zelphia Wescott on Jun 26, 1839 in Cincinnati, children: Mary Ann, George, William, Drayton, Harriett, it is all that I have for information. I have also Laventure William husband of Mary Gillette. Laventure William husband of Bessie Burrows. I do not know if these William one a bond with the Laventure-Wescott couple. Perhaps do you have this information in your genealogy and which you will agree to help me? Thank you very much of your answer. Gisèle

Comments: Hi Bill, emailed you some time ago and we are still looking for the parents of William B. Wescott. WE did find a brother Ira Wescott who was a Millright. Widowed in Buffalo NY. We suspect that one of the first Wescott colonist had to be a direct desendant. My husband wants his SAR with his Wescott. Instead he had located William B's father in laws family in Troy NY who has the patriot in his lineage. Have you any more information for us. Barb and Dan

Comments: I am a descendant of Lewis Wescott, born ca. 1809 in Brunswick County, NC. His father came from VA. but I have been unable to trace his family. They migrated to VA. from New England, possibly Connecticut. There is a family tradition that they made gunpowder in New England. Have any ideas?
