Comments: I am new to geneology and went to links2go.com and typed in the Westcott surname. I found information about the family and their origins in Devonshire. There was another link to your site. My mother's maiden name is Westcott (Sylvia Marie). Her father (Charles Everett) was from Stirling, Ontario. Some of those ancestors spelled the name as Wescott. Are you and we related to a common ancestor who immigrated to North America?

Comments: you do have one of the best sites I've ever seen.. Thanks for all the hard work. I can't see your chain will help us. All we know is a (Charles) Wescott was a colonel (?) in the civil war, my grandmother is Emma Palmer Saunders, grgrdaug. of same, m. T.H.Best ab. 1890. Presumably the family was from Devon, but we have nothing for proof.

Hi Bill, I came across your page and wanted to thank you. Your page has been so helpful. My sons are descended from Joanna Wescott and Stephen Marks of Maine. I am finding that both families have interesting histories. I have learned so much about the Wescott's from your page. Thank you once again, Sincerely Michelle

Comments: There was a Westcott who brought charges in the last witchcraft trial held in Connecticut. In a deposition he referred to a 'cousin Jonas Weed'. I know the term 'cousin' was (and is) used loosely, to refer to cousins, 2nd cousins, cousins-once-removed, etc. However, if he was construing it strictly, it means he and Jonas had common grandparents. On the Weed side, the grandparents would have been the original immigrant Jonas Weed and his wife Mary. I am trying to find Mary's maiden name, suspect Hoyt or Schofield. I believe this particular Westcott was a descendant of one of the brothers who preceeded Stuckley to America, possibly Richard. Do you have any information on from the Westcott annals of marriage to a WEED? Thanks

His widow who was originally from Stanbridge East returned here with her son in 1876. Ari married Mary Palmer and had 2 sons and 3 daughters. This would help me find my way up the tree to one of Stukely's 3 sons. Thank you for your suggestions.
