Andrew 0. Egeness was born in Kvinesdahl, Norway, October 14, 1840, and died at his home east of Frost on Saturday, November 6, 1915, at the age of 75 years and 21 days. In the spring of 1861 he was married to Miss Anna Olsdatter Bergsetter in Nordfjord, Norway. They came to America in 1871 and the first five years here they lived one mile east of Frost, where he conducted a blacksmith shop, after that they moved onto the homestead just south of where they were living, were he continued to live until his death. His wife died June 16, 1905. Ten children were born to them, two of whom have died. Those living to mourn his death are respectively as follows: Andrew A. Egeness, Frost; Ole C. Anderson, Hastings, Minn.; Boal Anderson, Thompson, IA; Mrs. John Alfson, Wentworth, SD; August Egeness, Mrs. H. J. Forthun, Mrs. Gilbert Alfson and Albert Egeness, Frost. Besides the above named children there are 28 grandchildren to mourn his death.

The funeral occurred on Wednesday, November 10th with services by Rev. K. R. Palmer, pastor the S. B. E. Church who was assisted at the home by Rev. P. B. Trelstad of Dell. The pallbearers were: Hans and Tennes Tenneson, Nels Henjum, Iver E. Amundson, E. P. Hovland and Ole Anderson. Those from away who were present at the funeral were as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Kittel Alfson, Nanda, SD; Mr. John Alfson, Madison, SD; Hans Severson, Taylor, WI; and Mr. and Mrs. Ole C. Anderson and son Dwight of Hastings, MN. The Record Joins in sympathy with the bereaved relatives.

Obituary Mrs. Andrew Egeness (Anna B.)

Blue Earth Record

Mrs. Andrew Egeness died last Friday morning at about 6:30, from heart trouble. She was 64 years old at the time of her death. She leaves a husband and eight grown up children to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. Mr. and Mrs. Egeness and the three oldest children, came to this country from Nordfjord, Norway 33 years ago, and settled on the farm where Mrs. Egeness died. Five children were born to them at this place. The names of the children are respectively as follows: Andrew the oldest, who lives with his family near the South Blue Earth Church; Ole who lives near Hastings, Minn.; Boal and Annie both at home; August, who lives with his family south of Frost; Miss Rachel and Albert the youngest, both staying at home. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the house and at the South Blue Earth Church at which cemetery the remains were laid to rest. Rev Sondreson conducted the funeral. Those from a distance who were here to attend the funeral were, Mrs. A.B. Helseth, a niece of the deceased, and Miss Anne Hegdahl both of Madison, SD and Ole Egeness of Hastings, Minn. The Record extends its sympathy with the bereaved ones.

Note: Anna Egeness died June 16, 1905 and was buried June 18, 1905.

Note: The two children that died probably died in Norway. Jorgina Egeness Forthun was omitted from the list of the children.

Note: Andrew was probably not the oldest son because he left the family farm in Kvinesdahl north and east of Oslo and traveled to Nordfjord on the west side of Norway to live.

Obituary Mrs. 0. C. Anderson

Funeral services for Mrs. 0. C. Anderson were held at the South Blue Earth church Wednesday afternoon, April 1, at l:30 o'clock. Rev. 0. B. Tufte preached the funeral sermon.

Margaret Leither Anderson was born in Spring Prairie, Wis., on the 16th day of September, 1869. She was the daughter of Jens and Christina Leither. At the age of eight years she moved with her parents to Northwood, Iowa. Here her mother died. Two years later the family moved to Blue Earth, Minnesota, where she attended public school. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith June 21, 1885, by Rev. M. C. Hanson. To this faith she remained true.

On July 14, 1890, she was united in marriage to Ole C. Anderson. They lived at Blue Earth and Wells a few years and since 1900 made their home at Hastings, Minnesota. Her husband preceded her in death in May, 1923.

Mrs. Anderson was a true Christian and her character and life were beautiful and ennobling. Her health had not been of the best for several months, and she passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. J. Schiller, at Hastings, Minnesota, Monday, March 30, 1936, at the age of 67 years, six months and fourteen days.

She is survived by five children; Mrs. Ora Wescott, Minneapolis; Mrs. P. J. Schiller, Arthur, Asper and Dwight, all of Hastings, Minnesota; five brothers, three sisters, seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. A dearly beloved one hath left us; God hath in His wisdom bereft us; But He will not leave us forsaken-- We know that the dead shall awaken.
