Relationships to the deceased are shown from the great, great, great, grandparent on the left to the great, great, great, grandchild on the right. Solid lines indicate the paths of direct descendancy. Numbers in the circles indicate the degree of kindred to the deceased. Full cousins are in heavy black circles. Cousins to the left are "cousins in the ascendancy." Cousins to the right are "cousins in descendancy."

The rights for each person and degree are determined by state statutes.
